Tulle Dreams: How To Wear a Tulle Skirt in Winter
There isn’t a better way to dream than to dream in tulle – the flowiness and romantic quality of this beautiful material makes you feel like a princess or a whimsical fairy. This fashion season, we saw tulle everywhere – from runways to chain stores. Worn with a t-shirt and leather jacket, for a rock princess look or with a bodysuit and lace-up ballet flats for the ultimate ballerina look. Tulle has been all the rage. You know what’s funny? No matter how many times tulles goes out of style and comes back in style, I’m always welcoming the trend. Each time it reemerges, I try to do something new with it. Dress it up, dress it down, play with it. Here's one of many ways you can wear a tulle skirt in winter.
New Year’s Eve Look
My New Year's Eve look is a bit different this time around. I tend to opt for a dress, but I thought - why not switch it up a little? Maybe I can wear a romper that resembles PJs, because what's New Year's if not one big pajama party? At least for me, because I tend to fall asleep with a glass of champagne in one hand and Kathy Griffin yelling in the background from overcrowded Times Square, as we're all waiting for the ball to drop.
Train Travel In Style
If you have to wait for the train, at least do it stylishly. Not that I was actually waiting for the train, but hey, I had to figure out how to name this post. The weekend I took these photos, New York was covered in snow. It came almost unnoticed and unannounced, like when Kirk sneaks into Emily Gilmore's dinner without anyone noticing him. (All Gilmore Girls fans, you know which scene I'm referring to...hilarious.)
Street Style New York City: City Lady for a Day
I don't take photos in the City very often, but when I do, I find it to be such a struggle. People are so over people taking photos on the sidewalks. I totally understand that - you're trying to get to work and then BAM! - an obstacle. But hey, the most important thing is your attitude. Patience and kindness go a long way and you need to have a lot of it when you're determined to take photos in a beautiful concrete jungle that New York City is.
Little Black Sweatshirt
LBD (little black dress) is a staple of every wardrobe. However, this post is not about it. No. And it’s all because, an LBS (little black sweatshirt) doesn’t get much love and it’s just as much of a staple if you ask me. When I purchased this sweatshirt, you guessed it – from Mystique, I wasn’t exactly sure what it was. I liked the fact that it’s ripped, but I wasn’t sure if it’s just an oversized sweatshirt or a sweatshirt dress. Therefore, I’ve decided that it can be both.
The Perfect Blouse
Happy Fri-yay my fellow Stylegazers! I think I’ve finally found the ONE – I’ve finally found the perfect blouse. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with anything flowy, especially the blouses, because I’ll be honest; I’m low key trying to channel Stevie Nicks. But hey – aren’t we all? She’s such an inspiration.
Sporty Look
As you might’ve noticed, I don’t really post that many sporty looks, so I’ve figured that maybe I should switch it up a little… I don’t know… I’m not sure what aligns with my personality better – sporty or romantic? But hey – we can’t always live our lives according to the script, now can we? We kind of limit ourselves.
Take it Easy
Hello my fellow Stylegazers! Happy Friday! This has been a long and exhausting week. Being a one-woman band is definitely not easy, but I have so much passion for what I do that the pros outweigh the cons. Still, every now and then I need to remember to take a breather. I try to take on as much as possible and I really push myself past what’s humanly possible. If you feel me – this is a reminder for you to spoil yourself a little this weekend. Go pamper yourself, take a walk in the nature, meditate, hit the gym, socialize… Do whatever makes you feel alive. And when the next work week starts; just TAKE IT EASY. Slow down, take a moment to breathe, observe...
Modern Rebel
Hello my fellow Stylegazers! Welcome to yet another outfit post; borrowing its Modern Rebel title from this particular top that I’m wearing today, because sometimes coming up with a title is just very hard. (You feel me…?) David Bowie, Madonna and Billy Idol were rebels… So - does wearing this top make me cool then? Am I a rebel wannabe? Idk. Stir it up. Shake and bake. Rock the boat. Or whatever they say… Just keep on rockin', I guess.
Pretty in Pink
The title of this particular blog post is a nod to a John Hughes' movie. Huge fan of his work. What can I say? This girl has a soft spot for 80s rom-coms. As you all know, October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month and today’s outfit has been put together with that in mind. I’ve decided to wear pink in honor of the cause and with intention to hopefully raise more awareness.
