V Day Pic 8 HAPPY FRIDAY FELLOW STYLEGAZERS! The Valentine’s Day is getting closer and closer and you might be getting closer and closer to a full-blown panic mode/meltdown, because you don’t know what to wear for that uber-romantic date. All of you taken ladies, don’t you worry! I got your back! Now, all of you single ladies out there are going to say: ”Well, someone has to ask me out first, duh! Then I’ll start caring about what to wear!” But this is what I’m going to tell you: “Hell no, girl! You are going to take your lovely self out for drinks, instead!”

Have you ever met a single soul that loves making a “fun bun?” I certainly haven’t. For something that’s supposed to be “fun,” messy and cute, it’s absolutely complicated to make. After failing miserably so many times, I have given up the “fun bun” completely. The bun was there, but it wasn’t a “fun bun,” I didn’t enjoy making it and it ended up looking pretty much like something Miss Trunchbull from “Matilda” would sport. Not cute. However, one day I have decided to try it again. (“If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again…”)

Post 24 Pic 4 Peanut butter and jelly, Lorelai and Luke, yin and yang, Ellen and Portia, ice cream and cherry, sun and life, Mulder and Scully, sushi and soy sauce, Beyoncé and Jay Z… I don’t think you can imagine one without the other. People come together and form power couples. Fashion creates power looks. And some things just go together and work like a charm - one of them being velvet and glitter.

Wining and dining - we all love that! But there’s one thing that happens to be very problematic, particularly for ladies – the makeup. You spend hours getting ready and thirty minutes into a dinner, you realize that you have pretty much eaten away all your makeup or to be specific - any lip product you're wearing at that moment. You end up leaving traces of your lip product everywhere: the glass, the utensils, napkins… or in the worst case your teeth.

Post 22 Pic 3 Covered in blankets of snow, it’s hard to see anything wrong with the world when it’s so magical. I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of winter, but it’s just so picture-perfect. “Winter” is usually accompanied by “wonderland” and it’s for a reason. What other season can be described as such? Winter has after all inspired so many writers and poets. It is such a cruel season, but oh, so stunning.

Post 21 Pic 1 About two weeks ago, I have finally decided to take a walk on the High Line with my family. It took me five years (it’s going to be six in July) since I’ve been living here, to finally visit one of the must-see parks of Manhattan or an aerial greenway and rails-to-trails park, if you will. I know how awful that sounds and I know I have chosen possibly the worst season to see it, but I am slowly gaining a reputation for all of my awkward and poorly thought-out decisions (at least when it comes to family trips).

Post 20 Pic 2 Hello my dear Stylegazers! I sincerely apologize for the silence. I decided to take a short break in order to survive the holidays, but I’m here now and back at it. I also wanted to say, HAPPY 2016! (Although, judging from what’s happening in the world right now, it’s not really going to be much different from any previous one, because – the humanity.) But anyways, let’s stay optimistic, shall we?

As we're counting the days, hours and minutes till New Year's, let's take a moment and look back on the year that I consider to be a great one when it comes to music. Without further ado, here they are: 1. Zella Day - Kicker.pngWho: Zella Day What: Kicker (Zella Day’s debut studio album) Where: Pinetop Records, Hollywood Records When: June 2, 2015 Why: “Sweet Ophelia” is the first song I heard by Zella and since then I’ve loved every single she released, therefore you might assume that I had some pretty high expectations when it comes to her debut studio album. I’m happy to say that I wasn’t disappointed. Kicker is every bit magical, trippy, seductive and dreamy as I hoped it would be. The guitars, string arrangements, electronic elements, stripped down ballads, impeccable lyricism – Kicker has it all. Zella Day’s style can be summed up in three words, “Spaghetti Western Pop.”
