Post 12 10 An overcoat is a long, usually double-breasted wool or cashmere coat that made its way into women’s fashion. Both in history and literature, the overcoat had a high value as it was worn to establish that an individual was a part of military or had a certain social status. Therefore, different variations of the coat appeared; the frock overcoat, the greatcoat, the paletot coat, the Chesterfield coat that became the most important overcoat of the next half-century, etc.

Everyone's buzzing about this pastel fall trend we have happening right now. I'm in! There's nothing I love more than adding a little bit of softness and a pop of color to make the cold November days seem less harsh. Here, I've done it by building my outfit around this really cute blush pom pom beanie I got from Forever 21. When I was thinking about the overall look, I thought that the best thing to do would be sticking to pastels to create a more balanced look.

There’s nothing that brings out an inner child in me like a pinafore dress and I love that sense of nostalgia. So, I just had to hop on this pinafore dress trend bandwagon. My particular favorite this season has been this khaki green version from Zara. It has patches all over that add a little bit of character to it. There’s a particular one that says: “No coffee, no workee,” which also happens to be a rule I live by. This dress is edgy, a little bit of military and definitely punk. It’s so much fun to wear.

I took advantage of this sunny Sunday to visit the Old Westbury Gardens. This breathtaking estate features an opulent Charles II-style mansion, beautifully landscaped gardens that stretch as far as the eye can see, a few ponds and a pool. It was built for John Shaffer Phipps’ fiancée Margarita to resemble her Battle Abbey house.

Are you looking for a perfect "girls' night out look?" If you're running around and panicking about what you're going to wear for "Ladies' Night" which happens to be tonight or you're planning your outfit in advance - look no further! Why not try something bright and sparkly? (wink, wink) As we’re stepping deeper and deeper into November, the days are getting shorter and colder and you can feel that the sun will now rarely come out to play. The dark clouds are rolling in and the rain is a frequent, yet unwanted guest, while we’re trying not to let it get to us. And honestly, sometimes it’s really hard. Gloomy days equal gloomy minds, but it doesn’t have to be like that.

When in doubt, oversize it! I am a kind of person who doesn’t really like to stick to a certain style. I also don’t really have a favorite cut or color. My picks are quite impulsive and depend on if I’m really feeling it at the moment or not. So, every now and then, I like to switch it up and replace or mix the super tight garments with oversized. When going for the oversized look, the key is to always take balance and proportions into consideration. If I’m going for an oversized t-shirt dress look, I like to balance it out with skinny jeans or tights.

For this particular outfit, I took a walk in the park trying to find that perfect natural pop of color that will complement my dress. I currently happen to be obsessed with shirt dresses, because they are so effortless, yet so very chic. They can also go from day to night with a change of accessories and shoes and you can style them based on your aesthetic preference. I went with retro bohemian look. So, here's one of the many ways of how to wear a shirt dress in the fall...
