Cute Sundresses, My Summer Style Summarized

If there was ever the “summer of cute sundresses,” it was this one for me. People who know me personally can tell you that I draw a lot of my personal style inspiration from French and Scandinavian girl aesthetic. A girl on a beach somewhere in the south of France? Maybe a girl somewhere in Sweden, casually prancing through the wildflower meadows?

When I think of what I’m wearing for the day, I always have a dreamy visual in my head. Can’t help it, I’ve always been a daydreamer by nature. I always will be. Somehow, my daydreamer tendencies have helped me cope with the quarantine life and the wildfire that 2020 has been. If I wasn’t an escapist by nature, I’m not sure what my inner world would look like. Probably a beautiful mess.

Wearing these cute sundresses this summer made me feel like I was escaping a little from myself. I got to play a little dress-up and mentally escape somewhere beautiful. The images were taken in my backyard. Haven’t we all be feeling like beautiful birds stuck in a rusty cage this year? It’s hard to step outside and feel comfortable…feel…free.

Wow, writing all this down felt like such a relief. Maybe because for the longest time I’ve felt like I was holding my breath in this quarantine. Holding my breath for what’s to come. For what the future will look like for us and our future generations. With so much uncertainty out there, we were forced to coexist with the chaos. Don’t they say that all creation has been created in it?

I will leave you with one of my personal favorite quotes from Alan W. Watts:
“The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.”
